If you are looking for a more upscale place to dine that has a a menu that is almost all completely gluten free or can be modified to be gluten free, then you will want to check out Local Bistro in Scottsdale. The restaurants’ vibe is very modern and personal. All of their salads are gf, all pasta dishes can be made gf, and about half of the appetizers can be gluten free as well. I loved the pasta that I ordered. It was soft, but not to the point where it fell apart. The clams were cooked just right and the sauce was incredible. I truly enjoyed my dining experience at Local Bistro.
If you are out in the Peoria/Glendale area, especially by the Arizona Broadway Theater and are looking for a nice romantic stop for dinner, I would suggest having your meal at Cucina Tagliani. I absolutely loved the charm of this place. I felt like I had entered a restaurant right off the streets of Italy. The food was delicious and very fresh. There is only one type of gluten free pasta (which is typically the norm), but almost all of their sauces are gluten free. I loved that they had a huge build your own pasta menu with fun add-in options.
If you are looking for a place with a fun vibe and great food you’ll want to check out Pacino’s Italian Restaurant. Yes, Pacino as in Al Pacino. The restaurant has movie posters and pictures of him all over the joint. They hold different events on certain nights of the week as well. Just like most Italian restaurants, they offer only one type of gluten free pasta. However, the majority of the pasta dishes can be made to be gluten free. They also offer gluten free pizza crusts, which I will have to go back to check out!
It’s always nice to be able to find food at a chain restaurant especially when you have a big group. Even though there isn’t a huge selection of gluten free options at Olive Garden, what they do offer is tasty. You’ll want to chose from the “create your own” section of the menu. There you will have the gluten free pasta, a few choices for sauce, and some add ins. I personally enjoy their classic meat sauce. You can also partake in having their salad (minus the croutons of course).
If you are looking for outstanding authentic Italian food, Veneto in Scottsdale is one place you’ll need to try! I loved the romantic atmosphere of the restaurant; it is a great place to go on a date or celebrate a special occasion. They don’t have an extensive gluten free menu, but they have a gf pasta which allows you to play with options. I had the spaghetti alle Vongole (one of my favorite dishes) with red sauce. I absolutely loved the pasta. It was full of texture, the red sauce was flavorful but not heavy, and the clams were perfect. I truly enjoyed my entire dining experience at Veneto and look forward to another visit.
I’m extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food. I was pleasantly impressed with El Dorado Cantina in Las Vegas from the atmosphere, great customer service, perfect drinks, and flavorful food. They have a huge menu with many gluten free options labeled. I had the seafood enchiladas: Wild Pacific shrimp, wild bay scallops & wild Mahi wrapped in fresh organic corn tortillas, topped with creamy green tomatillo sauce & queso fresco. It was absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection, the corn tortilla didn’t fall apart like more places, and the sauce on top brought the dish together (The chips and salsa are also gluten free).
